StepOne for Teens 13-18

StepOne

StepOne is a financial club specifically designed for teens 13 - 18. StepOne can help turn your savings into something you want, like your own computer, a new stereo, a first car, or even a college education (the investment that just keeps giving!). StepOne will enable you to learn how to save, utilize a checking account, develop credit and much more.

Club Perks

Savings Account

Once you have deposited $1 into your StepOne savings account, you can enjoy all of the perks of the club.

Free Checking Account*

With a StepOne checking account, you can begin to learn how to manage your own checking account, from writing checks to balancing your checkbook. There is no minimum balance and no monthly fees.

* The credit union requires any member under the age of 18 to have a parent or legal guardian on the checking account.
ATM Service

You can access your savings & checking account 24 hours a day with the 1st Financial ATM card. Withdraw cash, transfer funds between accounts, inquire about account balances, and even pay for purchases at retailers displaying the Honor logo.

Visa Check Card

If you have a checking account and are 16 or older, you are eligible for an 1st Financial Visa Check Card. The check card is a checkbook and an ATM card all in one! The Visa Check card is NOT a credit card, but uses the Visa network to process your transaction. Purchases are automatically deducted from your account and are detailed on your monthly statement.

Each year, 1st Financial awards a $1,000 scholarship to a graduating senior StepOne member. Applications are available at all branch locations, and the scholarship is awarded each spring at 1st Financial 's Annual Meeting. Each applicant must complete an application and essay.
