1st Financial Federal Credit Union Awarded 2009 Business of the Year from Wentzville Chamber
1st Financial Federal Credit Union, located in Wentzville, St. Charles, Hazelwood, and downtown St. Louis, was honored by the City of Wentzville Chamber of Commerce with its 2009 Business of the Year Award at their 4th Annual Blizzard Ball on January 23, 2010. Wentzville mayor Paul Lambi presented the award to 1st Financial CEO, Nina Pilger, who while representing the credit union, happily accepted the award on behalf of all 1st Financial employees.
Mayor Lambi noted on the award, this year's recipient of the Business of the Year award has become an active member of the Chamber quickly since moving into the city of Wentzville by participating in many events, such as the Summer Food Drive and Summer Backpack Campaign. The mayor went on to write "People Helping People, a company philosophy is acted out each day with their long list of community programs that they support. To list a few: St. Louis Crisis Nursery, Habitat for Humanity, Komen St. Louis Race for A Cure, Salvation Army, Family Support Services and many others".
When discussing the honor, Michelle Rosner, Vice President of Marketing at 1st Financial said, "Credit unions exist to help people. Whether itís helping someone get a much needed loan or donating back to school supplies to help those in need, we are here to enrich the communities we serve. We have invested a large percentage of our time and resources into working in the St. Charles, St. Louis, and more recently Wentzville communities, not because we are searching for notoriety, but because that is what we exist to do." She went on to add, "We appreciate so much the Wentzville Chamber of Commerce for not only recognizing our efforts, but also for leading the way in assisting the city of Wentzville to thrive and succeed."
