Junior Achievement's mission is "to inspire and prepare young people to succeed in a global economy." Junior Achievement of Mississippi Valley, Inc. was founded in 1943 in St. Louis, MO and presently encompasses 27 counties in Missouri and 18 counties in SW Illinois. Since 1943, JA has matched local volunteers with groups of students-everything from after-school programs where kids start and run their own business to an in-school model for students from Kindergarten – 12th grade. JA empowers students with the intelligence and self-esteem to move forward and become all they can be, whether it is a future consumer, employee, president or caregiver. <p>
Today, over 4 million Kindergarten – 12th grade students are educated each year by Junior Achievement programs. The 1st Financial volunteers are proud to serve as role models to enrich student's lives by helping them understand business and economics.
