July 16, 2009 – 1st Financial Federal Credit Union located in Wentzville, St. Charles, Hazelwood and downtown St. Louis held it’s second all women build day for Habitat for Humanity of St. Charles County’s Divas Building Dreams home building project.
The credit union provided volunteer hours to the eight employees who donated their day to building a home for Habitat for Humanity of St. Charles County (HFHSCC). To date, 1st Financial has donated more than 250 hours to Habitat for Humanity of St. Charles County.
The all female employee build team consisted of administrative staff, a branch manager, a mortgage manager, a teller supervisor and a personal banker. HFHSCC recently purchased 14 fully developed lots off of Salt Lick Rd. in St. Peters, MO. The development has been named the Enclaves at Eisenhower. The development is a part of HFHSCC’s 5 year, 60 home, World of Home capital campaign.
1st Financial Federal Credit Union and HFHSCC are committed to finding a permanent solution to the affordable housing crisis in St. Charles County. Support of women in the local community is overwhelming and a Women’s Build is the perfect way to give back to a deserving family A Women’s Build will provide one more Habitat home in St. Charles County, while continuing the mission of HFHSCC. Each build also serves as an opportunity to spread Habitat’s message and educate the community about the benefits of homeownership.

The Divas Building Dreams home building project is scheduled for a seventeen week build to complete one home in the Enclaves at Eisenhower in St. Peters, MO.

has built 38 homes in the last 12 years through the help from volunteers, community leaders, churches and businesses. Habitat for Humanity of St. Charles County is in the midst of launching an exciting, five-year, $6 million dollar initiative called “World of Hope, It Starts at Home” to build 60 affordable Habitat for Humanity of St. Charles County home over the next five years! Habitat for Humanity of St. Charles County’s goal is to have built 90 homes in St. Charles County for hard working, low income families by the year 2012.
