Our Employees Volunteer

Library Volunteer Day

It is hard for me to put into words what I am feeling in my heart about what 1st Financial did for the PAKT organization this past year. The 1st Financial employees who served in the pantry were needed and much appreciated.

Toni Burrow, President of PAKT Community Center

We give our employees paid time to do hard work in the communities we love.

As part of our commitment to the community, we offer financial resources to our local nonprofits focused on education, job training, and sustainable housing.  We also know that financial resources are not always the biggest need for these small organizations.  For that reason, we offer every employee 8 hours of paid volunteer time each month, to serve our partners in the community.

We have packed lunches for clients of Gateway 180 as they took classes to retain sustainable living resources.  We have built houses for low-income families in St. Charles County with Habitat For Humanity.  We’ve helped facilitate job readiness training for the clients of the St. Louis Agency on Training and Education.  And we’ve worked in the warehouses of KidSmart Tools for Learning, sorting school supplies and assisting with distribution to teachers.

Our employees know that every day their work affects change in the community by offering products and services at a low cost to people who need it most.  And they know they are affecting change in their community when they work hands-on with our nonprofit partners with paid volunteer time.

Over the last 3 years, 1st Financial has paid employees over 1,500 hours of volunteer time.
