Serving the Community

These volunteers represent our local businesses, the communities we serve and liaise with our membership and our management. The board, elected by our members, serves without pay and sets the strategic direction, provides oversight and governance, and ensures the credit union fulfills its obligations to its members, its employees, and the communities in which we operate.

The Supervisory Committee ensures the examination and evaluation of the adequacy and effectiveness of internal controls, monitors financial integrity and stability and ensures the quality of management and board performance.

Please join us at our 2019 Annual Meeting on Tuesday, April 23 at the Hazelwood Branch located at 5916 North Lindbergh. We’ll review our 2018 achievements and look to the future of 1st Financial. We will also vote for the open board member seats. The doors will open and refreshments will be served at 5:30 pm. The meeting will begin at 6 pm.

2019 Board of Director Candidates

You may vote for two of the following candidates at the upcoming Annual Meeting on Tuesday, April 23.

Christopher WoodChris Wood

Mr. Wood has been an active member of 1st Financial’s board for the past 18 months.  He also served as a board member in 2011 and 2012.  Mr. Wood has been a credit union member for 8 years.

Mr. Wood currently works for the Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod as Manager of Internal and Operational Audits.  Prior to working for the Lutheran Church, Mr. Wood served as Chief Financial Officer for St. Patrick Center in St. Louis.

Mr. Wood holds a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Truman State University.

In his spare time, Mr. Wood serves as Assistant Treasurer for St. Francis de Sales Benevolent Society.  He has also served as the Treasurer of St. Francis of Assisi Athletic Association and as Vice President of St. Francis of Assisi Parish Council.

Mr. Wood is a dedicated volunteer and is seeking re-election for a three-year term.


Robert CoteRobert (Bob) Cote

Mr. Cote has been a 1st Financial member for 9 years. He lives in Wentzville with his wife Amy and 2 children Brieann and Zach.  He is the Program Director/Assistant Professor for Lindenwood University, School of Accelerated Degree Programs. He is responsible for managing the academic, personnel, and administrative affairs for the Management and Organizational Leadership Graduate Program. Recently, he became a Certified Leadership Coach through KLC and ICF.

Mr. Cote has over 25 years’ experience in multiple industries in various management and leadership roles. He strives to help organizations develop and implement strategies that lead to the accomplishment of high-end goals that meet corporate objectives.  As a leader, he utilizes relationship-oriented behaviors that inspire, motivate, and empower individuals to adapt in times of uncertainty and change.  He is a graduate of Western Michigan University with a BBA in Accounting, Baker College with an MBA, and a Ph.D. in Organization and Management from Capella University. His hobbies include karate, mountain biking, travel, and family time.

Mr. Cote is seeking election for a three-year term.


Victoria ReedVictoria Reed

Ms. Reed has been an active member of 1st Financial’s board for the past six years.  Prior to serving as a board member, Ms. Reed served as an associate volunteer for 1 year. She has been a credit union member for over 19 years. She currently works for the City of St. Louis as a Level III Accountant in Grants.

Ms. Reed holds a Master of Business Administration from Lindenwood University and a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Webster University.

When she is not working at her job or serving at 1st Financial, Ms. Reed serves as a board member of JER Youth Development Organization.  She also serves as the General Manager for 4TGOTG Baseball, on the Matthews-Dickey Boys and Girls Club, and the Boys and Girls Club of America.  She has also served on the St. Louis Cardinals Redbird Rookies and RBI program and on the St. Louis Sting Baseball Organization.

Ms. Reed is a dedicated volunteer and is seeking re-election for a three-year term.
