Information We Collect
We collect nonpublic personal information about you from the following sources:

  • netbr@nch registration- In order to use netbr@nch, you must first complete the registration form. During registration, you are required to give contact information. We use this information to contact you about netbr@nch related issues such as system maintenance. 1st Financial is the sole owner of the information collected on netbr@nch.
  • Information we receive from you on membership and loan applications and other forms;
  • Information about your transactions with others or us;
  • Information we receive from a consumer reporting agency and
  • Information obtained when verifying the information you provide on an application or other forms, such as from your current or past employers or from other institutions where you conduct financial business.
  • It is important to note - when you apply for a loan, a credit report is obtained at the time of application.
  • Newsletters
    If you wish to subscribe to our newsletter(s), we will use your name and email address to send the newsletter to you. Out of respect for your privacy, we provide you a way to unsubscribe. Please see the "Opt-out" section below.

Information We Disclose
We are committed to provide you with competitive products and services, which
may require that we share information about you with others to complete your transactions and provide you with a choice of products and services. In doing so, we may disclose all of the information we collect, as noted above. Accordingly, we may disclose the following kinds of nonpublic personal information about you:

  • Information we receive from you on an application and other forms, such as your name, address, social security number and income.
  • Information about your transactions with us to provide you with financial products and services, such as your account balances, payment history and credit card usage.

  • Mortgage lenders, insurance providers, investment brokers, and long term care providers.
  • Other companies that provide consumer discount programs

How to Opt Out or Stop Certain Disclosures
If you prefer that we do not disclose nonpublic information about you to such nonaffiliated third parties, you may opt out of those disclosures, that is, you may direct us not to make those disclosures (other than those permitted by law). 

This is further explained in the attached "Opt Out Notice". You may opt out of these disclosures at any time. This opt out option, by law, will not apply to disclosures that we make to companies that perform services on our behalf or to other financial institutions that have joint marketing agreements with us.

Once we receive your request not to make further disclosures, we will act as quickly as possible to stop disclosures. You may always contact us later if you wish to revoke your opt out election.

Our employees are trained in the importance of maintaining confidentiality and member privacy. What You Can Do to Help Protect Your Privacy
1st Financial Federal Credit Union is committed to protecting the privacy of its members. Members can help by following these simple guidelines:

  • Protect your account numbers, card numbers, PINs (Personal Identification Numbers) and passwords. Never keep your PIN with your debit or credit card which can provide free access to your accounts if your card is lost or stolen.
  • Use caution when disclosing your account numbers, social security numbers, etc. to other persons. If someone calls you, explains the call is on behalf of the credit union and asks for your account number, you should beware. Official credit union staff will have access to your information and will not need to ask for it.
  • Keep your information with us current. It is important that we have current information on how to reach you. If we detect potentially fraudulent or unauthorized activity or use of an account, we will attempt to contact you immediately. If your address or phone number changes, please let us know.

The specific companies that receive information from us are prohibited from using that information about you for any purpose other than what we agree to by contract.
